Choosing Cloud Automa on Tools For the end solu on, the Delta team selected Ansible Tower for applica on delivery and configura on management, VMware's vRealize Automa on as the Cloud Management Pla orm with SovLabs modules providing supported pla orm integra ons and extensions. Delta chose Red Hat Ansible Tower because Ansible was already in use for applica on deployment and the Delta team had already built some Jenkins pipelines. Delta had already proven this solu on in the environment, and the infrastructure and development teams already had experience with these tools. VMware's vRealize Automa on was selected because of Delta's significant investment in VMware technologies, VMware's exis ng market posi oning, and the availability of supported extensibility modules. Delta selected SovLabs Modules — including the SovLabs Ansible Tower and F5 Big-IP modules — because of the deep featureset, flexibility, and support posture aligned with Delta's preference for reducing the demand and opera onal overhead on the company's internal teams. Crea ng A New Team to Remove Silos The non-technical side of the solu on involved crea ng a team to own the new pla orm — a Cloud Engineering Team, responsible for cloud management. The new team worked with the exis ng teams to break down silos, improve processes, and understand the APIs available in the environment. The Cloud Engineering Team is also responsible for providing "guardrails" and guiding the other teams to the best integra on for the overall solu on. They also worked to develop a standardized "code pipeline" for virtual machines, including ini al patching and configura on. 3 C A S E S T U DY
